Hi
there! I am Kale and for the past several years I've worked in the field
of outdoor recreation, experiential education, vision fasting, big mountain
guiding, Search & Rescue
and Emergency
Medical Services.
Originally from Longmeadow Massachusetts,
I've fallen
in love with
the
mountains and
water
ways of
the Western US
and
since 1997 have lived with my wife in the San Juan Mountains of Colorado.
If you're looking for a guide who will teach you the ways of the woods
while having
a safe
and
fun adventure, you've found him. I thoroughly enjoy long distance backpacking,
powder skiing, fly fishing, climbing and exploring the mysteries of soulcraft in
the wilderness. In addition to being
the owner of Backcountry Retreats, I am a medic for the Ouray Colorado
Ambulance Service and a serious (and I mean serious) dog lover
and hot springer (www.orvishotsprings.com)!
I recently married a couple of my clients on a Denali climb and would
be more than happy to help you plan a wilderness wedding. Don't hesitate
to contact
me with your adventure request!
Meet
Kim Jones!
A mother of two beautiful children and a
long term member of the Rico Volunteer Emergency Medical Services Team
as an EMT-B, Kim Jones has worked for three years as a guide on our
customized retreats excursions.
Kim enjoys horseback riding, fly fishing,
snowmobile touring and camping with her family. She manages a store
in Rico Colorado and is currently the captain of the Dolores County
Search
and Rescue
Team. Her husband is the Rico Fire Chief and her son is
in the process of forming a bow hunting club.
